Student learning

Lockerbie College admits students of any race, colour, religion, social, economic, national and ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or with any disability that can be reasonably accommodated by the school, to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at Lockerbie College. It does not discriminate on the basis of such factors in the administration of its admissions, financial aid, educational and scholastic policies.

Lockerbie College accepts students with a primary diagnosis of a learning difference, such as Dyslexia or Attention Deficit Disorder. An applicant’s cognitive ability should fall into at least the average range. Our gauge is that students have the intellectual ability to acquire information and move forward academically plus/minus 24 months of chronological age level. We also may ask parents to provide formal Education-based Assessments to determine suitability. Lockerbie College is unable to admit students with a primary diagnosis of a behavioral disorder, such as ODD. However, each application is assessed on an individual basis to determine whether Lockerbie College can successfully meet the needs of the child.

advances study

The Admissions Process at Lockerbie College is open-minded and detailed so that the relevant information passes from the parent to the School with which to ascertain the student’s needs. When the School is clear as to the best course of study for the student, it can confirm the pay band into which the student will be placed in order to receive the learning that is required for meaningful progress. This way learning targets can be measured and met and the parents’ best hopes delivered.

Always look ahead
